COOPERATIVE ARTISTS INSTITUTE
Whether it is starting a Boston tradition by creating and leading First Night’s first New Years Eve procession, or pioneering the concept of school culture to facilitate school change, Cooperative Artists Institute (CAI) is about using the arts and humanities to empower people to overcome family and community fragmentation. Since 1970, CAI, a non-profit organization, has provided services for schools, elder care settings, workplaces, colleges, and community and religious institutions.
We are a community of artists, educators, and social scientists who use the performing and visual arts and humanities in non-traditional ways. Our work is on the front-lines helping underserved populations improve the quality of their work, play, education, and human services. CAI is an investment in our civil society — the progressive social consensus that humanizes us and insures our future.
